Starting in 2022, Starbucks coffee workers around the country began to unionize under the banner of Starbucks Workers United. In spring of this year, I, as a barista, worked with my cafe to unionize our store, and began to do illustrative work for the nationwide campaign, which culminated in a day-long festival in Richmond Virginia, featuring various musical acts and political speakers including Senator Bernie Sanders. The unionization effort is currently ongoing, with first contract bargaining underway, where I am proud to represent as a bargaining unit delegate.
